'As people of faith and as people of goodwill, we gather today for this unique ‘Interfaith Moment of Hope and Solidarity’. The COVID 19 Pandemic does not have many parallels in recent history. Spawned as a virus invisible to the naked eye, it has travelled with its human carriers across continents and catastrophically affected the lives of billions of human beings.

THIS PANDEMIC IS LIKE NO OTHER.

Disease and Disruption has dominated headlines and human minds alike. Healthcare providers and Public Health experts, including the World Health Organization, have continued to document, study and share evidence on a daily basis. This we commend and endorse. We know that history also reveals to us the lessons of hope, presents examples of human resilience, and reminds us of the value of solidarity in rebuilding our souls and our communities each time a disaster strikes’, were the opening words at the Global interfaith prayer organized by Religions for Peace andwhich brought people from 100 countries and different faith traditions together.

In our city Coimbatore, Religious leaders, people of faith and each of our communities have come together in this difficult time to protect and support each other.
During COVID 19 Pandemic, we continue to:
 Cooperate and follow the Government of Tamil Nadu’s advisory
 Offer comfort and prayers to our believers and the city at large
 Keep all places of worship closed : Temples, Churches, Mosques, Jain Mandirs and the Gurudwara are closed so that crowding is avoided and physical isolation is followed.
 Support and serve vulnerable families with warm meals, shelter and medical support

We reiterate the wisdom that our TAMIL tradition has taught us, ‘Koodi Valnthal Kodi Nanmai’.
We rededicate our prayers and services to all the citizens of Coimbatore!
