Dubai, 14 December 2020: Heritage Village, an icon that glows in the evenings of the “Coolest winter in the world”. Throughout the duration of the Global Village season, Heritage Village welcomes its visitors. Organised by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) for the seventh year, the Heritage Village situated at Dubai’s Global Village, throbs in the heart of pavilions representing world nations.

In line with the UAE’s campaign ‘World’s Coolest Winter’ aimed at boosting domestic tourism, the HHC said visitors to the Heritage Village will experience Emirati hospitality and explore traditional ways of life.

Hind bin Demaithan Al Qemzi, HHC Director of Events, said: “Heritage Village, which is located right after the Cultural Gate, is a landmark of UAE’s heritage and a living exhibition of its pastime lifespan. It is built to showcase UAE’s socio-cultural and geographic landscapes of the Bedouin, mountain and coastal inhabitants, in addition to showcasing symbols of its economic national wealth expressed in its flora and fauna.”

“Emiratis are proud of their heritage. Every evening at Heritage Village, lore and folk tales from long ago; are retold. There are good displays of typical Emirati household, traditional houses, cafés, Sadu and Talli weaving, and more,” added Al Quemzi.

Health and safety measures

To ensure the health and safety of the visitors, Al Quemzi noted that in previous years, national celebrations, children’s workshops and numerous CSR activities were held at Heritage Village. Nevertheless, under the current challenges of the outspread of coronavirus (Covid-19), the Heritage Village continues to be a replica of past Emirati, Freej (old neighbourhoods in UAE) life and a destination to relive UAE’s cultural heritage.

Notably, proper precautionary measures against coronavirus (Covid-19) are observed at the Heritage Village. Social distancing and wearing of face masks are strictly enforced and hand sanitiser stations are also located in strategic areas.
