TamilNadu Teachers Education University ,Chennai and Sri Paramakalyani Schools,Alwarkurichi , jointly organised a webinar on ‘ROLE OF TEACHERS IN MOTIVATING,INSPIRING AND IMPARTING VALUE EDUCATION IN VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS” on the 28 th of April 2021 .Dr. Robert Clive G , Associate Professor, Crossland College, Brahamavar, Udupi District, Karnataka was the resource person.

The webinar was the first one to be jointly organised by TNTEU and Sri Paramakalyani Schools, Alwarkurichi after signing a Memorandum of Understanding by the two institutions , for mutual collaboration,cooperation and empowering teachers with the latest technologies and practices in the field of EDUCATION.

The programme commenced with invocation song and the traditional ‘Lighting Of Lamp”

Dr.T. Sivasakthi Rajammal ,Assistant Professor, Department of Educational Psychology & Centre for Capacity Building Programmes for School Teachers,TNTEU, Chennai delivered the welcome address ,with warm greetings and gratitude to Dr. Panchanatham, the Honourable Vice- Chancellor of TNTEU, other Special invitees of TNTEU,Chenna ,iSri A. Krishnamoorthy,, Honourable Chairman of Amalgamations Group ,the members of the management of Sri Paramakalyani Schools, Alwarkurichi, organisers of the webinar , all the participants from across the country and ,overseas participants of the webinar.

The Honourable Vice- Chancellor in his Presidential Address highlighted the purpose of MoU between TNTEU,Chennai and Sri Paramakalyani School ,Alwarkurichi. He stressed , on value based Education ,its relevance in today”s Education system and drew the attention of the participants to the 158 pedagogies that could be used in classroom transactions.

The Chairman of Amalgamations group in his Presidential Address urged the teachers to adapt adopt and implement new methodologies in the process of holistic Education.He expressed his confidence that workshops/seminars hosted under mutual collaboration by TNTEU and Sri Paramakalyani Schools,Alwarkuruchi would enhance the skills of teachers and complimented everyone behind the initiative of signing of MoU between the University and Sri Paramakalyani Schools.

Prof. M. Govindan, Dean of Faculty and Controller of Examinations, Head Department of Educational Psychology,TNTEU,Chennai delivered the Inaugural Address .

His address centred around the following points:

Teaching is a life enriching programme dealing with living souls unlike inanimate objects in other professions.Teacher is a facilitator who has to concentrate on the Affective Domain and contribute for the all round development of the students.

Prof.S. Mani , Director, Centre for National and International Academic Colloborations & Head, Department of Educational Planning and Administration, TNTEU, Chennai.during his felicitations congratulated the efforts of the organising team for giving due importance to the spirit of the MoU.He laid stress on inculcating values and defining online classroom behaviour of students.

Mr.S.Karuppusamy, Chief Educational Officer ,Tenkasi District, during his speech encouraged many more similar programmes and ,use of ICT skills for online learning.

Dr.G.Devarajan, Member, Sri Paramakalayani Higher Secondary School Committee, thanked the Honourable Vice- Chancellor of TNTEU,for enumerating the different pedagogies, developing ICT skills of students in a learner centred classroom.

Dr.M. Sundaram, Secretary ,Sri Paramakalyani Higher Secondary School, proposed the Vote of Thanks. He thanked profusely the Honourable Vice - Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, Director,Faculty of TNTEU, Syndicate of TNTEU,Chairman of Amalgamations Group,Management members the Schools ,the enthusiastic participants from all over the country and abroad in the webinar.

Dr.P.Subramanian, Assistant Professor,Department of Educational Planning and Administration,TNTEU, Chennai, introduced the chief guest Dr. Robert Clive G,Associate Professor, Crossland College, Brahamavar, Udupi District, Karnataka.

Mrs Lalitha Thiagarajan, Advisor & Coordinator of Sri Paramakalyani Schools, gave a brief note on the importance of the topic chosen for the webinar.

Dr. Robert Clive G, Associate Professor, Crossland College, Brahmavar, Udupi District, Karnataka, in his key note address shared examples, visuals, imageries to drive home the facts that teachers should inculcate good values in the students,teachers should be motivated to motivate the students.He enthused the teachers to love their jobs,stay connected with students, reach out to students who need emotional support, ,strengthen the bond with students,teach them resilience, importance of positive attitude ,compliment the students ,to implement new ways to stay in touch with students like story-telling,. The key fact in his address was to accept changes,adaptability in managing changes and to motivate, inspire and reassure students.

The session was wrapped up by Mr.S. Venkatasubramanian,HeadMaster, Sri Paramakalyani Higher Secondary Schools, Alwarkurichi.
