AUE congratulates Board of Trustees Chairman Major General Dr.Al Raisi on INTERPOL Presidency

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) and its Board of Trustees members, faculty members, administrators and students from various colleges and academic disciplines congratulated Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the UAE Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the AUE's Board of Trustees, on becoming the first Arab security official to win the presidency of the International Criminal Police Organisation "INTERPOL."They expressed pride in this world high-profile position bearing the UAE's name.

Professor Muthanna Ghani Abdul Razzaq, President of the AUE, said that "Major General Dr. Ahmed Al Raisi's election to the presidency of INTERPOL exemplifies the UAE's regional and international capabilities and competencies with high-security mindsets that have the potential to lead the world in security."

"However, it conveys a sense of pride to the AUE, including its leaders, professors, and students, because Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi is one of the University's major icons," he added.

"The selection of the INTERPOL General Assembly to place the Inspector General of the UAE Ministry of Interior at the helm of its leadership for the next four years sends a clear message that the UAE has attained a level of excellence and exclusivity in combatingall types of criminal activity. Major General Al Raisi's extensive police experience as well as his professional and academic accomplishments both locally and internationally areacceptable investments for INTERPOL, as he has established himself as one of the world's most renowned law enforcement professionals,"Prof. Muthanna continued.

Professor Muthanna Ghani Abdul Razzaq concluded that the presence of Major General Dr. Ahmed Al Raisi at the top of the INTERPOL's leadership will improve its capabilities, procedures, and work methods because Dr. Ahmed Al Raisi adopts modern and unique trends in confronting criminal activities, and always moves, at the security and academic levels, in accordance with future strategies aimed at achieving a stable society and a safe world.
